How to Activate SBI, SBH, SBP, SBT, SBBJ Bank Mobile Banking Online

State Bank mobile banking service allows users to perform multiple banking activities using high-end devices. It gives you freedom to use banking services anywhere and anytime. Customers who have linked their mobile numbers with their bank accounts can avail this service. In this post, we have come up with a step-by-step procedure to activate SBI, SBH, SBT, SBP, SBBJ mobile banking service. Just follow the steps listed below to do so.

  • You should have a smartphone.
  • Your mobile number should be registered with your bank.

Steps to activate m-banking service –

Note: Activation procedure is same for all State Bank associate banks like SBI, SBH, SBP, SBT, and SBBJ.
We have divided activation procedure into following three parts –
  1. Send an SMS to obtain USER ID and MPIN
  2. Install State Bank Freedom app onto your smartphone
  3. Activate State Bank mobile banking service by visiting nearest ATM, logging to online banking, or visiting your home bank branch.
1. Send an SMS to obtain USER ID and MPIN
Send following text message from your registered mobile number to 09223440000 to get your mobile banking user id and MPIN.
Type – ‘MBSREG’ and send it to above mentioned number.
Activate State Bank mobile banking
In a short period of time, you’ll receive a text message containing your user id and temporary MPIN from your bank.
2. Install State Bank Freedom app onto your smartphone
After receiving mobile banking login credentials (user id and PIN), open your phone’s app store and find State Bank Freedom app or if you’re unable to find m-banking app then visit official website of your bank to download the app directly from there. Here, we have illustrated how to download app from Google Playstore.
  • Open Google Playstore and type 'State Bank Freedom' in search box and then tap on State Bank Freedom app. 
Activating SBI mobile banking
  • In the next step, tap on install. Subsequently, hit open button to open the app.
  • From the app homepage, tap on register.
Register SBH mobile banking
  • Tap on ‘already have User ID and Default MPIN’.
  • In the next step, you’ll be asked to enter User ID. Just enter the user id that we’ve received earlier via text message. 
  • After entering the asked details, tap on accept.
    Registering SBI mobile banking
  • In the next page, you will be forced to change old MPIN with new one. Just enter old MPIN (See screenshot 2) that we have received along with user id through SMS and then under new PIN enter a new PIN (That should be a combination of special characters, numbers, and alphabets ex. 12@abc). Reconfirm your PIN and then tap on change.
  • You’ll read a successful MPIN changed message. Tap on ‘OK’ to close the dialog box. 
  • Tap on activate.
Register SBP mobile banking service
  • In the next step, you will receive an SMS containing keywords to enable GPRS on your mobile. You will have to send that SMS keywords to 09223440000. Your SMS keywords would be something like that MBSGAC 1234565 (See screenshot 10), just send them to above mentioned number to enable GPRS services on your smartphone.
That’s it. We’ve successfully completed second step. Now jump to next part to complete activation process.
3. Activate State Bank (SBI, SBH, SBT, SBP, or SBBJ) mobile banking service by visiting nearest ATM, logging to online banking, or visiting your home bank branch
To enable State Bank mobile banking completely, you would have to opt a medium (ATM, Online Banking, or Bank Branch). We have described here steps that you would have to follow at an ATM machine or online banking if you’re unable to activate this service using following methods then you can also visit your home bank branch.
State bank ATM mobile registration

Activate through an ATM Machine -

At ATM machine perform steps given below:
  • Visit a State Bank ATM and swipe your ATM-cum-Debit card.
  • Select mobile registration (if you’re unable to find it on first page then try to find it somewhere else like under services tab).
  • Select mobile banking then select registration.
  • In the next step, you will need to enter your mobile number. Just enter it and press confirm button.
  • That’s it. You will receive a successful mobile banking registration message on your mobile number. 
Note: Actual steps at an ATM may vary.

Activate using State Bank Internet Banking Service -

If you’re an SBI, SBH, SBP, SBT, or SBBJ internet banking user then you can complete registration process by accessing your online banking account. Read on to know how to do so.
  • Login to your Online Banking account using your login credentials.
  • From the navbar, click on eServices.
  • From the side panel, click on State Bank Freedom.
  • Now under registration tab, select an account and then hit confirm button.
  • Enter your USER ID followed by your phone number. Subsequently, click on continue.
  • In the next page, you will be asked to enter your profile password. Just enter it and press submit button.
  • That’s it. Mobile banking facility has been successfully activated on your phone number.

Activate by visiting your home bank branch -

You can also visit your bank branch to activate this service.
