How to Reset Forgot SBI Net Banking Login Password without Visiting SBI Bank Branch

Remembering many user ids and passwords are difficult for everyone; and in today’s fast paced world, it’s no surprise when someone forgets his/her passwords. Many surveys have also highlighted this issue that majority of people forget their passwords on regular basis. State bank of India is one of those banks who are pledged to provide hassle free and convenient banking services to their customers. The bank knows that customers can forget their online banking passwords; therefore, SBI has provided easiest ways to retrieve their accounts; without compromising security of financial and personal information of customers’ accounts.

In this tutorial, you’ll read a step by step procedure for resetting SBI net banking password. Basically, SBI internet banking has two types of passwords; login password and profile password; if you remember any of them then you can regain access to your account without visiting your home bank branch. In other scenarios, if unluckily, you forget both passwords then you can use second method (by submitting your ATM card details) to recover your password. If you have any of the following then you can recover your SBI online banking login password without visiting your home bank branch;
  • If you remember profile password 
  • If you have an ATM card 
  • Without ATM card and Profile Password or With registered mobile number 
Note: Registered mobile number required for all methods of resetting password.
If you do not have any of them, then you can visit any of nearest SBI bank branch to get your login password.

Follow the Steps Given Below to Recover State Bank of India Net Banking Login Password-

  1. Visit SBI online banking website and click Personal Banking Login link (As usual you do). 
  2. Click Forget Login Password link. 
  3. A pop up window will appear on your screen, select Forget My Login Password from the dropdown menu and click Next. 
  4. You’ll be landed to a ‘trouble logging in’ page. Just fill out that form and click Submit button. 
  5. You will get a one time password on your registered mobile (to ensure real account holder accessing his/her account) after clicking on submit button. Just enter the OTP that you’ve received on your mobile number (if you’ve not received then click Resend OTP) and click Confirm. 
  6. In next section, you will be asked to select an option to reset your internet banking password. Select appropriate option; 
    • Using ATM card details: Select this option if you want to reset your login password by using your ATM card. After selecting this option, you will reach to a new window where you need to enter your ATM card details and have to pay RS.1. Once you successfully done everything, you will be asked to enter your new password. 
    • Using Profile Password: Use this option if you remember your profile password. Select ‘using profile password’ and click Submit to proceed. Enter your profile password and carefully follow the instructions to reset your login password. 
    • Without ATM card and Profile Password: If you do not have ATM card and profile password then you can choose this option. You will see two options 1) reset your password at Branch 2) Receive new login password by Post. You can opt any of them. If you select first one then you will need to visit SBI branch or if you select the second option then you’ll receive your login password by Post within 15 days (depending on postal services in your area).
